SUMMER CAMP

Located in the heart of the beautiful Texas hill country in Wimberley,
Rocky River Ranch has been operating as a private summer camp for girls since 1953.

We are a summer camp offering three different session lengths, a wide variety of classes and both day and overnight programs.

DAY CAMP    RESIDENT CAMP

If your daughter could design a perfect summer, it would probably include plenty of friends, new things to do every day and a place to cool off when the sun gets too hot. The perfect summer is waiting for your daughter at Rocky River — filled to the brim with new friendships, challenging activities and LOTS of fun!

The Rocky River experience, while enriching your daughter's childhood with a sense of accomplishment and independence, will also offer her a treasure of wonderful memories she will carry for a lifetime — of friends, laughter, songs, and campfires.

Our hill country setting, expert staff, and long-held traditions combine to create remarkable and memorable summers for Rocky River campers.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about our beloved camp and look forward to seeing your daughter at Rocky River this summer!

We are accredited by the American Camp Association and, more importantly, regarded by past and present campers as The Best Place on Earth!

Rocky River Ranch experience

RRR gives young women the chance to excel in areas where they may not have ever had a chance to before … and an opportunity to gain self esteem and confidence. These are such amazing and important gifts that will stay with campers their entire lives. This is why RRR will forever be a "home" to its campers. A place where they feel accepted, and loved and special.

‒  Margaret "Meg" Beecher Lowery Years at camp: '89-2000, 2005

Rocky River was a HUGE part of my childhood and I cherish all of the wonderful memories I have. Sandy, Skeet, Jim, Rue, Arthur — y'all were the best extended family a kid could ever ask for. My favorite cabin, Bar K, holds fond memories as well. The stories I have would take days to repeat and the friendships I made were oh so REAL!

‒  Kathy Hotz Thompson Years at camp: 1975-1987

I love Rocky River Ranch. It was a place I could go and feel accepted for the person I was — not the person I was expected to be. When we passed under that arch, the playing field was leveled and I was free to be myself, or even to reinvent myself! If I could ride, if I could swim, if I could do crafts or even if my only talent was spitting watermelon seeds, I was accepted!

‒  Britany Beever Just Years at camp: 1979-1984, 1987-1988

Mama Knolk — what a wonderful and gentle lady. She always wanted the best for us and for us to be our best.

‒  Jeanette Brian Lawrence Years at camp: 1960s

I loved performing on stage and modeling in the fashion show. I learned how to shoot a bow and arrow, and how to do synchronized swimming. I wrote a 'Snoopy' column for the newspaper. In fact, a lot of the things I loved then are things I still love today.

‒  Shannon McCann Years at camp: 1966-1975

Attending RRR is a tradition in my family — aunts, cousins, sisters, and best friends all have great memories that we still talk about today. I am waiting for the summer that my daughter is old enough to attend and experience the same wonderful times that I had. My memories of summers at RRR are so special to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Skeet and Sandy, and all of the staff from every session, for the ten years of summertime bliss!
